Notation: In 2005, Brzezinski had a ground floor apartment and studio on Royal St. in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina blew into town. He'd evacuated a day earlier, grabbing a car full of prized possessions and his Chihuahua. By the time the water receded, he had ended up in Hawaii, where he remained for about 6 months. From neighbors he learned that the Royal St. location was a complete loss and he never returned to the Big Easy for work. He said he may go back in the future, but only for love. This was his first painting after the disaster.
